Kelangsono Village Apparatus Becomes Suspect In Methamphetamine Case In Batang, Arrested With 2 Colleagues

JATENG - The Batang Resort Police revealed a case of circulating methamphetamine in the local area as well as arresting three suspects, one of whom is a village apparatus serving as Kaur Keuangan, Kelangsono Village.

Batang Resort Police Chief AKBP Nur Cahyo Ari Prasetyo said the arrests of the three suspects were from police activities that had been optimized over the past month.

"The three suspects have their respective roles. From the results of this activity, we secured a number of evidences, namely 4.75 grams of crystal methamphetamine packaged in eight packages, 5.79 grams of crystal methamphetamine in 10 packages, and a scale," he said in Batang, Central Java, Tuesday, November 5, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the three suspects are Adi Kurniawan, Makno, and Khaerul Khakim. They were arrested at Khaerul Khakim's house in Sempu Village, Limpung District.

The suspects have their respective wars, namely those who store methamphetamine and become couriers or deliver methamphetamine to a place that has been agreed upon with the buyer.

"Adi Kurniawan alias Gepeng (38) who served as the Head of Finance of Kelangsono Village became a dealer with evidence of crimes confiscated as many as eight packages of methamphetamine," he said.

He, who was accompanied by the Head of the Detective and Narcotics Unit, AKP Erdi Nuryawan, said that based on the results of the examination, the three suspects admitted that they had been running the illicit business for a long time.

"They share their respective tasks, ranging from the procurement of goods, storage, to the distribution of drugs," he said.

The three suspects will be subject to Article 132 paragraph (1) Jo. Article 114 paragraph (1), or Article 112 paragraph (1) of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of life imprisonment or a minimum of 5 years.

He said his party was committed to eradicating drug trafficking indiscriminately in its jurisdiction.

"Therefore, we urge the public to play an active role in eradicating this crime by reporting any suspicious information to the police," he said.
