Prabowo: Indonesia Reflects Friendly Islamic Sharia, Peaceful, Cooling

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia's commitment as a bridge to world peace and Islamic or Islamic Humanitarian for humanity is a strategic choice in making it happen.

"Indonesia is a reflection of friendly, peaceful, and soothing Islamic law," Prabowo said in a speech read by the Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar at the UI Campus, Depok, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 5.

In his remarks at the opening of the International Conference on Humanitarian Islam, President Prabowo highlighted the uniqueness of Indonesia as a country with harmonious diversity.

"Indonesia is a reflection of friendly, peaceful, and soothing Islamic law. This is where more than 280 million people can feel the warmth of brotherhood, harmony, and humility to respect each other's differences in religion, culture and ethnicity," said Prabowo.

President Prabowo emphasized the role of Pancasila as a basis that unites Islamic principles with an inclusive and humanist national spirit.

"These are the inheritance values of the founding fathers of the nation that we must protect and continue," he said.

Regarding Indonesia's role in the international arena, the President reminded that since the declaration of independence on August 17, 1945, Indonesia has been actively promoting peace and dialogue between nations.

"The Asia-Africa Conference in 1955 is one proof of Indonesia's history of commitment to promoting world solidarity, independence and peace," said the President.

The President also mentioned Indonesia's contribution to the UN peace mission and its role as mediator of conflicts between countries, reflecting dedication in building a more peaceful and harmonious world order.

Regarding the 2045 Indonesian Vision, President Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia has aspirations to become a developed country that plays an important role in bringing world peace.

"Islamic humanitarian is a strategic choice in an effort towards this vision," said Prabowo.

The President stated that Indonesia is ready to share inspiration and the best practice in maintaining diversity and nationality.

"Hopefully this conference will give birth to enthusiasm and bring great benefits to all of us, as well as a strong foothold to create a brighter and more harmonious future," he said.

The 2024 Islamic Humanitarian International Conference organized by PBNU was attended by scholars and academics from various countries by continuing to visit several areas in Central Java until November 9, 2024.
