Meet Safrizal ZA, Aceh Labor Alliance Asks For 2025 UMP Of IDR 4 Million
ACEH - The Aceh labor alliance met with the Acting Governor of Aceh Safrizal ZA to voice the increase in the 2025 Aceh provincial minimum wage (UMP) to IDR 4 million from the current figure of IDR 3.46 million per month.
"Currently, the minimum wage for Aceh province is around Rp. 3.46 million, and earlier we asked for an increase of up to Rp. 4 million," said the chairman of the DPW of the Aceh Indonesian Trade Union Federation, Habibi Inseun in Banda Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, October 31.
Habibi said that the meeting between workers and the Acting Governor of Aceh today was part of an effort to voice the issue of national labor, and one of them was related to the UMP.
Initially, he said, they planned to carry out a campaign action, but the Aceh Governor immediately accepted the audience workers and welcomed their input well.
During the meeting, he continued, they asked the Acting Governor to increase the Aceh 2025 UMP to IDR 4 million as an effort to realize the welfare of the Acehnese people.
"Secondly, we voiced related to the request for the Job Creation Law to be revoked by the President of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
In addition, Habibi added, his party also complained about the condition and employment case in Aceh regarding massive layoffs that occurred by a number of companies.
"Like last week, there were 81 layoffs of workers by palm oil mills in Subulussalam. We also reported that to the governor," said Habibi.
On that occasion, the Acting Governor of Aceh, Safrizal asked the Aceh Manpower Office to immediately calculate the determination of the 2025 Aceh UMP in accordance with the aspirations of the workers, and consider the Qanun Employment regulations.
"Determine the right psychological numbers for the UMP, so that the workers are happy and the employers are also not nervous," he said.
Then, regarding the case of layoffs in Subulussalam, he also asked the relevant agencies to immediately deploy a team and investigate the cause of the layoffs of 81 employees, so that the best solution could be found.
