Melissa Barrera Relaxes Neve Campbell Invited To Play Scream 7

JAKARTA - Melissa Barrera opened her voice after Neve Campbell reportedly returned to the Scream franchise. The news circulated just after Barrera was fired from production of Scream 7 for voicing support for Palestine.

Campbell, who appeared in the first five films of Scream, distanced himself from the franchise. He admitted that the difference in wages between players was the reason he did not join the production.

After Barrera was sacked, Campbell was offered the lead position and agreed to join. He admitted the production house heard his complaints about the difference in wages.

"I feel grateful the studio listened to me when I talked about wage comparisons and when I talked about the uncertainty of Scream 6 that didn't go well," Neve Campbell said in an interview.

When they contacted me (for Scream 7), I thought 'I don't know what looks like respect for them. We might be in different places' but they started in a strong place so it went well,' he said.

Now, Melissa Barrera has spoken out about Neve Campbell's return. He admitted they had never communicated again before the news circulated.

"No, we never talk," Melissa Barrera quoted Decider as saying.

I think everyone has a choice and what they think is best for them. I really respect people's decisions in doing things, to keep going in this life," he said.

Melissa Barrera also said she had never spoken to the team that fired her from production, as well as an apology.

Neve Campbell will return to play Sidney Total in the confirmed Scream 7 airing on February 27, 2026. The film will be directed by Kevin Williamson.
