Police Clarification, Perpetrators Of Hostage-taking At Pasar Minggu Police Post, Fellow Business Victim's Father

JAKARTA - The police have clarified that the perpetrators and victims of hostage-taking at the Pasar Minggu post, South Jakarta are not between father and son. In previous reports, the perpetrator with the initials IJ (54) was named the father of the victim.

Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta Metro Police (Jaksel) AKP Nurma Dewi said the perpetrator was a business friend of the victim's father.

However, when asked what business his father was doing, he admitted that he did not know further because it was still under investigation by investigators.

"Friends, business friends," said Nurma to reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police, Monday, October 28.

Pasar Minggu Police Chief, Kompol Anggiat Sinambela said that the victim was safe. He made sure there were no injuries on the victim's 7-year-old body.

"No one was injured," he said.

Anggiat explained that the perpetrators and victims of the hostage are father and son.

"(The perpetrator) is his father," said Anggiat when confirmed, Monday, October 28.

During the rescue process, the police negotiated the perpetrators.

"It took us a long minute to negotiate. 15 minutes," he said.

Regarding the sharp weapon (sajam) that had been attached to the victim's neck, Anggiat confirmed the information.

"Yes, it sticks to his neck," he said.
