Elite Pramono Anung's Promise To MSMEs In Jakarta: Prepare A Grant Fund Of IDR 300 Billion

JAKARTA - Candidate for Governor of DKI Jakarta number 3 Pramono Anung will prepare a grant of Rp. 300 billion to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jakarta.

"I will allocate from the existing APBD funds for grants for MSMEs of Rp. 300 billion," Pramono said in a written statement delivered in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, October 25.

According to Pramono, the main problem experienced by MSME actors is about capital. This was revealed by Pramono when answering a resident's question asking about a program for MSMEs during a dialogue with residents of Tanah Abang flats, Central Jakarta, last Thursday.

Pramono emphasized that MSMEs are the pillar of Jakarta's economy. In fact, because of this MSME, the Indonesian government was able to survive when it was hit by the last COVID-19 pandemic.

"At that time I was still a minister so that was what saved our economic growth," said Pramono.

However, Pramono emphasized that because the funds are grants, they must be accounted for because this is part of the turnover to help and stimulate MSMEs who need protection from the government. The grant funds are earmarked for lower-middle-class MSMEs.

"This is an intermediate MSME. Actually they can still survive, but indeed facilities, promotions and so on must be assisted by the Jakarta government. And I will do it if I (selected) as governor," he said.

In addition, Pramono realized that the progress of digitalization was unavoidable and had almost entered all sectors, including MSMEs.

Despite supporting the development of MSMEs digitally, Pramono said there must be fair behavior towards business actors for traditional and online business actors. "There must be clear arrangements," he said.

Pramono also revealed that many traders in Block A Tanah Abang Market complained about a 50 percent decrease in turnover. They hope that the government can help facilitate this place to become attractive.

Therefore, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta and the central government should sit down together to make regulations governing digitalization. Because, according to his experience, when it was decided at the practice cabinet meeting in his field it was different.

"And that's what might be something I didn't know in the past by communicating, asking questions, and so on, I finally found out," he said.

The DKI Jakarta KPU has appointed three candidate pairs for governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta to run in the DKI Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada) on Sunday (22/9).
