Qatar Airways Temporarily Suspends Routes To Iran And Lebanon Regions

JAKARTA - Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended the routes of two countries in the region, namely Iran and Lebanon, starting Thursday, October 24.

"Regarding the current situation in the Middle East region, Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended flights to and from Iran and Lebanon until further notice," the airline said as quoted by Anadolu, Friday, October 25.

Qatar Airways, meanwhile, assured passengers that flights to Jordan and Iraq will continue to operate "for noon."

"We are monitoring the situation carefully and will provide the latest information if necessary," he said.

Suspension occurs when tensions in the region increase, prompting airlines to reassess their operations.

Tensions in the region have risen due to Israel's brutal attack on the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 42,800 people, most women and children, following last year's attack by Palestinian Struggle group Hamas.

The conflict has spread to Lebanon, whose entire territory has also experienced deadly attacks from Israel in a year-long cross-border war between Israel and the group since the massacre began in Gaza.
