Shootout Kills 19 Gang Members In Sinaloa Mexico, Cartel Boss Arrested
JAKARTA - A shootout near the capital city of Mexico's Sinaloa state, killed 19 gang members. Meanwhile, a local cartel leader was arrested, the Mexican defense ministry said.
A deadly gun battle on Monday, October 21 took place outside the capital Sinaloa, Culiacan, when a group of more than 30 gunmen opened fire at the authorities.
Several people suspected of being members of an armed cartel fled the scene after federal agents returned fire.
The prisoner was identified as Edwin Antonio "N" - his last name was kept secret because it is a characteristic of those accused of crimes in Mexico.
Edwin is the local leader of the Sinaloa Cartel faction led by one of his legendary founders Ismael "El Mayo" Zambada.
