Samsung Will Not Production Of The Galaxy Z Fold At Low Prices

JAKARTA Samsung doesn't provide much choice for its foldable phone. Over the years, this phone has only been available on two models so Samsung released the Galaxy Z Fold with a Special Edition.

The device, which was just released on Monday, October 21, is only available in South Korea. Although Samsung wants to present more options for its market, the tech company says it has no plans to make foldable devices at affordable prices.

"Instead of considering (Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition) as a premium product, it's a product that's released to expand your options," Samsung told the remainder of the Journal. "Until now, we haven't planned to release separate products at a lower price."

Since it was first launched, the Galaxy Z Fold has a variety of prices. Sometimes the price goes up, sometimes also drops. However, the price of the foldable device that Samsung has set for years is still in the expensive category.

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is priced at an expensive price, even more expensive than the 6 standard Fold. The Galaxy Z Fold is usually sold for 2,388,100 won (IDR 26.9 million), while the Fold 6 Special Edition is sold for 2,789,600 won (IDR 31 million).

Although the device is increasingly sophisticated thanks to Galaxy AI, interest in this phone is not so high because of its unaffordable price. According to Samsung's sales results, the majority of Z Fold 6 buyers are foldable device users from the previous generation.

Almost all foldable phones, including non-Samsung brands, have high prices so that their growth and sales revenue are not as good as the usual model. If Samsung has no intention of selling the Galaxy Z Fold at affordable prices, high sales figures will be difficult to achieve.
