My Annoying Brother Becomes The Opener Of KIFF 2024, Producers And Directors Present Relevance For Spectators

JAKARTA - The 2024 Korean Indonesia Film Festival (KIFF) will be held again this year. Dinna Jasanti's latest film, My Annoying Brother, is the opening film of the festival which is entering its 11th year.

Dinna Jasanti was happy because this film could be the beginning of the film festival which lasted more than a decade. He also feels that the film My Annoying Brother can be in line with Indonesian audiences.

Earlier called easy nice watching film and mba Lala (Timothy) said siblings. This film is a heartwarming film and what you want to convey is that hopefully this film will become a topic of relationship that has never been said so it can be said," said Dinna Jasanti at the KIFF 2024 press conference on Tuesday, October 22.

"Incidentally, when KIFF was still very gray and knew that My Annoying Brother was a remake of the Korean adaptation with the same title. We can see the universal language between brothers and sisters, this family has the same relationship," said Lala Timothy as producer.

Furthermore, Lala tells the story of the film My Annoying Brother through the process of local adaptation which is released by her main production house, CJ Entertainment. As a result, this film has a very local life without damaging its initial premises.

CJ menekankan ingin IP lokal masuk ke lokatnya. Itu jadi PR kita memasukkan unsur budaya dan menghidupkan karakter jadi orang Indonesia bukan sekadar ditranslate," kata Lala.

We give this 'Kemal Character (played by Angga Yunanda) universe life, we then review the relationship between his sister and sister. If it is translated, we will change it and some we influence. CJ agrees that, one of the things that is different from the original. We add that side kick is Kristo and Caitlin (Halderman)," he explained.

Kristo Immanuel as one of the players was happy and honored because the film My Annoying Brother had a crowd of fans.

"The atmosphere is happy, so honored because My Annoying Brother is an extraordinary IP in Korea. Being a part of it interest and excitement," said Kristo Immanuel who plays Fauzan.

I love discussing with Ms. Lala and Sis Dinna because they are open and from the CJ there are open adjustments. Fauzan's work is becoming more grounded. The adjustment is the way we make Fauzan's character more three dimensional during the match with Jaya (played by Vino G. Bastian)," continued Kristo.

My Annoying Brother tells the story of Jaya (Vino G. Bastian), an inmate who gets released on condition on the pretext of wanting to take care of his younger brother, Kemal (Angga Yunanda) who is blind. Jaya struggles to make Kemal return to judo while she has to live with her sister.

The film My Annoying Brother will open KIFF 2024 on October 31, 2024 at CGV Grand Indonesia, Jakarta.
