Deputy Foreign Minister Anis Matta Makes Palestine The Main Issue In Diplomacy With The Islamic World

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (Wamenlu) Anis Matta stated that the Palestinian issue will be the focus of its main work when serving as the face of Indonesia in national diplomacy with the Islamic World.

"We have the mandate of the Constitution to help the independence of Palestine, and I think all of our efforts as Indonesians, both political and humanitarian diplomacy, will be shown to help the independence of Palestine," said the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Indonesia in a statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 22, which was confiscated by Antara.

The Palestinian issue must be of special concern, he said, because after all, the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that has been achieved will have a major impact not only on the region but also on the world.

"The war in Palestine will be a game changer; the end of this war will change the constellation not only in the Middle East but at the global level," he said.

Meanwhile, Anis said, although he has been entrusted by President Prabowo to specifically handle Indonesia's diplomacy with the Islamic World, the detailed division of tasks with other Deputy Foreign Ministers is still under discussion.

He also reminded that the struggle to support Palestinian independence will not be the only issue he has raised as Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Indonesia for the Islamic World.

"We have not completed the division of tasks between us even though from the start I was given a focus on the Islamic world," he said.

Anis Matta was inaugurated with Arrmanatha Nasir and Arif Havas Oegroseno as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 period by President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (21/1).

The three Deputy Foreign Ministers will work with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono who has also been inaugurated by Prabowo on Monday morning.

Apart from Anis Matta, who has explained her field of duty, Arrmanatha Nasir also admitted that he had been specifically assigned to handle foreign affairs for the Americas and Europe. Meanwhile, Havas has not mentioned the special tasks he will carry out.
