Kemenpora Will Clean Up Federation Dualism
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) for the 2024-2029 term of service who has just been inaugurated is ready to clean up the dualism of sports federations in Indonesia.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports (Wamenpora), Taufik Hidayat, said that one of President Prabowo Subiato's mandates is to solve this dualism problem.
"Now the concentration of the President is that there are several sports that are dualism. This is what the athletes lose. It's a pity that they have to clean up," he said.
Currently, there are at least three sports whose management is in trouble, namely table tennis, kempo, and fencing. This dualism has a bad impact on athlete coaching.

The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo, last week revealed that he would form a new federation as a middle ground to solve problems like what happened at table tennis.
Meanwhile, Taufik said that as soon as possible there must be coordination between related parties so that this issue can be resolved. He continued that there will definitely be the best solution that can be taken.
"It is necessary to sit together, discuss, and find the best where. It must be reminded if the fight continues, athletes will be harmed. Athletes are also called and heard from them," said Taufik.
The problem with the dualism of this federation has isolated athletes from the sport concerned. They missed out on the opportunity to appear in important events due to this problem.
The table tennis sport, for example, was absent in two editions of the SEA Games, namely in 2019 and 2021. The sport then returned to appear at the 2023 SEA Games.
