Target 100 Days Of The Coordinating Ministry For Politics And Security: Maintain Stability, Synergize Cyber Affairs

JAKARTA - Deputy Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus said matters of political stability and security would be the focus.

This was conveyed by Lodewijk after being inaugurated as deputy minister to accompany Budi Gunawan who served as Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Monday, October 21. His ministry has received direct directions from President Prabowo Subianto.

"In general, I say we must support Pak Prabowo-Gibran's 100-day program. Well, whatever in our field, of course in the first 100 days we must maintain political stability and then security stability, including defense issues," Lodewijk told reporters in Jakarta.

Cyber affairs, continued Lodewijk, will also be a concern. The Coordinating Ministry for Political and Security Affairs will try to synergize between institutions.

"Because many bodies play there, yes, well, if they synergize, of course the better," he said.

"We hope that we can maintain cyber resilience. That's the first thing," continued Lodewijk.

Then, Prabowo called Lodewijk also mentioned marine security. The former Minister of Defense (Menhan) wants the existing laws to be maximized to minimize theft of fish and other potentials.

"Because one year we lost 30-40 trillion. Imagine. Well, if we can protect this,... of course we will provide additional foreign exchange for the government," he said.

Finally, Prabowo also asked for the defense system to be strengthened. Lodewijk said this step not only involved the TNI but also other departments and ministries.

"Well, that's roughly our priority, yes. Including how we synchronize, coordinate the ministries under the Ministry of Police. That's roughly the case. Of course, Papua is also a domestic problem for us," concluded Lodewijk.
