The inter-village conflict led to the burning of a number of houses and fatalities.
"Currently the conditions at the location are safe, there are no more acts of chasing each other and attacking each other by the residents between the two villages," said East Flores Police Chief AKBP I Nyoman Putra when met at the NTT Police Headquarters, in Kupang, Monday, October 21, confiscated by Antara.
Currently, he said, the police, assisted by the NTT Police Mobile Brigade from Sikka Regency, and TNI officers, were at the scene to prevent attacks between residents from happening again in the two villages.
"Police personnel as well as the TNI have made barriers between the two villages so that conflicts between the two villages do not occur again," he said.
Putra also appealed to the people in the two villages to remain restrained and not to be provoked by various issues or incitements that could cause the conflict to occur again.

"But there is no agreement between the two parties," he said.
He explained that in June 2024 a measurement was carried out by the local National Land Agency (BPN), but the predetermined limit did not make a decision.
The two residents in two villages feel that they still have the same right to the land, so that on Monday, October 21, there was a conflict that led to riots between the two villages.
