AI Development On Apple Devices Two Years Behind

JAKARTA A number of Apple employees believe that the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their company is running slowly. In fact, this technological development is considered to be lagging behind for two years.

This trust is related to the results of Apple's internal studies and AI strategies, according to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. Apple Intelligence does present interesting features such as a summary of AI notifications, Siri integration, and others, but the strategy is not good.

As long as it makes Apple Intelligence, the company doesn't work alone so the development cycle is quite slow. This technology also relies on models that can run on devices and require newer chipsets such as A17 and M1.

To present the best AI feature, Apple partnered with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into its entire system. This is a great move, but also shows that Apple's AI-based features are still unsatisfactory.

Apple's internal study results show that ChatGPT is 25 percent more accurate than Siri and 30 percent better at answering questions. With the emergence of these findings, Apple employees increasingly believe that their AI technology is 2 years behind.

Even though the AI development is lagging behind, Apple is trying to catch up with employing people or acquiring companies. That way, iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other devices can get more advanced AI-based features.

In the next two years, Apple plans to bring its AI technology to a device that has a screen. This plan begins to be seen with the emergence of rumors of using the A18 chip for the iPhone SE and the presence of a large-scale novice iPad.
