Prabowo Did Not Mention IKN In The Inauguration Speech, What's Wrong?

JAKARTA - The 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, did not mention at all about the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) in his speech after the inauguration at the MPR RI plenary session.

In his speech, Prabowo emphasized many things, ranging from challenges from the nation from within and outside the country, budget leaks, poverty, economic strengthening, eradicating corruption, to supporting Palestine.

However, there was not a single sentence regarding the transfer of the capital city that Prabowo mentioned. Currently, the president's decision regarding the relocation of the capital city has not yet been issued.

The target for the transfer of government centers from Jakarta to the archipelago has also been extended in the transition from Joko Widodo's administration to Prabowo.

Responding to this, the chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Komarudin Watubun considered this to show that IKN was not Prabowo's priority to be carried out at the beginning of his government.

"I think that's part of Pak Prabowo's attitude to underline which one is a priority. So, which one is important and priority and which one is important but not priority," said Komarudin at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Sunday, October 20.

According to Komarudin, Indonesia must prioritize other things, such as the settlement of state debt which reached IDR 8,400 trillion. Next year, Prabowo will have to pay debt of more than IDR 1,000 trillion.

Then, Komarudin appreciated Prabowo who emphasized the state's obligation to pay attention to the small people compared to physical development.

"If we prioritize the physical ones, then the people suffer, food prices rise, all kinds rise, sorry for the people. Because Prabowo has continued to emphasize about the small people," said Komarudin.

"So we should look at the priority scale first," he added.
