Overstay 72 Days, Dutch Citizen In Kediri Deported By Immigration

JAKARTA - The Kediri Immigration Office in East Java (East Java) deported a foreign national (WNA) from the Netherlands with the initials JB suspected of committing immigration violations in the form of living beyond his residence permit or overstaying for up to 72 days.

Head of the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section of the Class II Immigration Office of Non-TPI Kediri Adrian Nugroho revealed that deportation is a firm action against foreigners who violate the Immigration Law.

"The action of the Immigration Administration (TAK) in the form of detention, deportation and deterrence is proof of the commitment of the Kediri Immigration Office in enforcing immigration law," said Adrian in Kediri, Friday, October 18, quoted by Antara.

He explained that the Dutch citizen had violated Article 78 paragraph (3) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, namely foreigners who hold residence permits whose validity period has ended and are still in Indonesian territory more than 60 days from the time limit for residence permits to be subject to immigration administrative actions in the form of deportation and deterrence.

Adrian revealed JB reported himself to the Kediri Immigration Office on October 1, 2024 and admitted that his residence permit had expired since July 21, 2024.

JB is a family union limited residence permit (ITAS) holder issued on July 17, 2023 by the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Kupang. JB married his wife, an Indonesian citizen with the initials J and lives in Kupang City.

To the officers, JB admitted that there was disharmony in his household, so he moved from place to place and ended up in Jombang.

In Jombang, JB meets his friend who is also a Dutch citizen. JB's friend then accompanied the person concerned to the Kediri Immigration Office to report himself.

Since October 1, 2024, JB has undergone a detention process at the Class II Immigration Office of Non-TPI Kediri.

The deportation action was carried out through terminal three, Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten. The Dutch citizen was escorted by two officers from the Kediri Immigration Office to the departure gate with Garuda Indonesia Airlines flight number GA900 Jakarta route (CGK) Doha (DOH) and continued with the Qatari Airlines airline flight flight flight number QR273 with the Doha (DOH) route Amsterdam (AMS).

For JB, in addition to being subject to deportation, he is also subject to deterrence by entering his name on the deterrence list.

Meanwhile, from January to September 2024, it was known that the Inteldakim Immigration Section of Kediri had carried out five immigration administrative measures.

"We welcome every foreign citizen who is active in the work area of the Kediri Immigration Office, but if there is an immigration violation, we will not tolerate it and action will be taken," said Adrian.
