X Update Privacy Policy, Allow User Data To Train AI
JAKARTA - Social media platform X will update its Privacy Service and Policy Provisions starting November 15, 2024 to increase transparency and reflect new services and features.
In an update made on Wednesday, October 16, X stated that it would allow third parties or so-called "collaborators" to use data from X to train their artificial intelligence (AI) models.
However, users have the option not to participate, meaning their data won't be used if they choose to disable this setting.
Meanwhile, another policy update X says users outside the European Union, EFTA countries and the United Kingdom must now follow Texas laws and forums in terms of lawsuits, while users in the European Union, EFTA, and the UK will follow Ireland's laws and forums.

Privacy policies are also updated to explain the type of information stored and the duration of storage. In terms of law enforcement, the license granted to users and X's ability to enforce this provision are also explained in more detail.
Other updates reflect how existing and future X products and services work. Especially for users in the European Union, they are given the right to object to certain decisions made by X under the Digital Services Act.
By continuing to use service X after November 15, users are considered to agree with these changes.
