SUSE: Data Ransomware And Visibilities Become The Concerns Of The IT Team In Asia Pacific

JAKARTA - SISE, a global company that leads innovative solutions in the company's technology sector, has just released a report of their first cloud security trend for the Asia Pacific region in 2024.

This report entitled "Securing the Cloud" reveals various challenges and security threats faced by information technology (IT) professionals in the region, including Indonesia.

One of the main findings of this report is that ransomware attacks are recognized as the biggest threat by 34 percent of IT professionals in Asia Pacific.

Unlike the majority of countries in Asia Pacific, in Indonesia, the lack of visibility and control over sensitive data accessed in the cloud, which is recognized by 35 percent of respondents.

This concern was followed by the threat of ransomware attacks and zero-day vulnerabilities, which are of concern to 33 percent of IT professionals in Indonesia.

In addition to cloud security, IT stakeholders in Indonesia also face major challenges in managing and securing data at edge computing.

The SUSE report revealed that data privacy issues and compliance with regulations were the main concern for 41 percent of respondents.

Another pressing challenge is managing edge devices and infrastructure (39 percent) and implementing an automatic security mechanism (37 percent).

This report also underscores the importance of supply chain security in Indonesia. About 24 percent of IT decision makers stated that the security certification recognized by the government would be their top priority in the next 12 months.

Then, the use of vendor-supported software (53 percent) and an independent assessment of the safety of third-party components (51 percent) are priority measures to minimize security risks in the supply chain.
