X Stops Advertising Boycott Lawsuit Against Unilever

JAKARTA - On October 11, 2024, Elon Musk through X Corp. officially dismissed an antitrust lawsuit against Unilever, which was previously accused of conspiring with the advertising industry group to boycott the social media platform, causing revenue losses.

In a filing in federal court in badminton Falls, Texas, X stated that his claim to Unilever had been withdrawn.

Unilever, which is based in London and has well-known products such as Dove soap, Hellmann's condition, and Pepsodent toothpaste, stated that they had reached an agreement with X.

In an official statement, Unilever said that X was committed to meeting their responsibilities standards in order to maintain the security and performance of the brand on the platform. However, details of this agreement were not disclosed.

Meanwhile, X expressed his pleasure in the continuation of their partnership with Unilever and will continue the antitrust charges against other defendants in the case.

The lawsuit initially accused the World Federation of Advertisers (World Federation of Advertisers) and some of its members, including Unilever, Mars,▁dinilai Health, and Orsted, of containing "billions of dollars" in advertising revenue from X.

After Elon Musk bought X in October 2022, advertising revenues declined for several months, as some advertisers fear their ads will appear alongside malicious content that doesn't match brand standards.
