Israel Doesn't Accept Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Survivors Equate Their Suffering Like Gazans

JAKARTA - Nilon Hidankyo, the Hiroshima atomic bomb survivors group, likened their experience to Gaza's children, victims of Israeli military attacks.

Israel then spoke up against the assessment of the group awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

"Gaza was ordered by Hamas, a assassination terrorist organization that committed multiple war crimes: targeting Israeli civilians, including women and children, while using its own people as human shields," the Israeli ambassador to Japan claimed on its X account, Sunday, October 13.

During more than a year in Gaza, 42,000 Palestinians were killed, including more than 10,000 children killed by the Israeli military.

The killing of thousands of people in Gaza was an unproportionate act of revenge as the Hamas attack on Israel which only lasted one day on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 Israelis.

"Such comparison distorts history and humiliates the victims" Hamas' attack on October 7, 2023 against Israel, which sparked a war in Gaza," Cohen continued.

Previously, Nilon Hidankyo's leader, Toshiyuki Mimaki, assessed that the suffering of children in Gaza was similar to what Japan faced at the end of World War II.

"In Gaza, children who were bleeding were carried (by their parents). Like in Japan 80 years ago," said Mimaki after receiving the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, October 11.

About 140,000 people died after the United States (US) dropped an atomic bomb in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.

The atomic bomb also causes a sustainable effect. It was recorded that another 74,000 Japanese people died in Herding three days later.
