Case Of Child Harassment In Bireuen Aceh, Kejari Threatens Maximum Prison For 200 Months

ACEH - The Bireuen District Attorney's Office (Kejari) in Aceh Province received the delegation of suspects along with evidence of cases of sexual harassment against children with one suspect.

The suspect has the initials N, a resident in Jeumpa District, Bireuen Regency.

"Currently, the public prosecutor is handling cases of abuse against children. The public prosecutor is also preparing an indictment for the delegation of cases to the district court for the trial process," he said in Banda Aceh, confiscated by Antara, Sunday, October 13.

In this case, suspect N is suspected of violating Article 50 of Aceh Qanun Number 6 concerning the law of jinayat. The threat of punishment, uqubat caning at least 150 times and a maximum of 200 times.

Or a fine of at least 1,500 grams of pure gold or a maximum of 2,000 grams of pure gold. Or imprisonment for a minimum of 150 months and a maximum of 200 months.

"The evidence that will be submitted at the trial in court includes koko shirts, shorts, sarongs, caps, robe, and children's underwear," said Munawal Hadi.

He mentioned that the alleged sexual abuse of children occurred in a place in Jeumpa District, Bireuen Regency, in May 2024. The alleged abuse was carried out by the suspect against two children. The act was allegedly committed several times.

"This case of sexual harassment against children has a major impact on the lives of the victims in the future. The victims are the next generation of the nation that should be protected," said Munawal Hadi.
