Jonathan Christie To The 2024 Arctic Open Final Without Taking A Sweat

JAKARTA - Jonatan Christie managed to secure the ticket to the 2024 Arctic Open final without sweating.

Jonathan is scheduled to face Thailand's singles, Kunlavut Vitidsarn, in the semifinals at Energia Areena, Vantaa, Finland, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, early morning WIB.

However, before the match Kunlavut decided to withdraw from the semifinal match due to injury. As a result, Jonathan won a walkover (WO).

Next, Jonathan will face China's Taipei representative, Chou Tien Chen, in the top party on Sunday, October 13, 2024, local time.

Chou Tien Chen, who became the seventh seed in the tournament, received a final ticket after beating Japan's singles, Koki Watanabe, in a rubber game, 21-12, 14-21, and 21-10.

Jonathan had met Chou Tien Chen 16 times before. The 27-year-old badminton player is still ahead of the 9-7 head-to-head.

Meanwhile, Jonatan Christie is the only Indonesian representative to make it through the 2024 Arctic Open final. He is expected to take home the title.

Previously, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who appeared in the semifinals, failed to advance to the final because he was stopped at the hands of Han Yue (China).
