Madrasah As-Syafi'iyah Tebet Persecuted By Class Brothers During Learning Hours Still Ongoing

JAKARTA - The case of severe abuse experienced by Afdal Ali (16) a grade 10 student at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) As-Syafi'iyah, Tebet, South Jakarta, occurred when teaching and learning activities took place at the school.

This was said by Afdal Ali's father, Mukti after visiting Budi Asih Hospital, Cawang, East Jakarta.

"(The incident) is still during school hours. Someone called (the victim) and was taken out of school. Right outside the school, his classmates were beaten," said Mukti, Friday, October 11.

However, until now, Mukti does not know the exact cause of the abuse experienced by his son.

"What's wrong I don't know. At the beginning of the incident, we were told from school, (that) my son was fighting," he said.

Unconscious, Afdal was taken to Budi Asih Hospital.

"He's injured, not conscious. The teachers take him to the hospital. The doctor asked for this to be operated on," he said.

Apart from the teachers, the victim was also escorted by his seniors in grade 12. However, it is not yet known whether the seniors were the perpetrators of the persecution or not.

Afdal Ali (16) a grade 10 student at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) As-Syafi'iyah, Tebet, South Jakarta, is still undergoing intensive care in the ICU room of Budi Asih Hospital, Cawang, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, Friday, October 11.

The victim is still unconscious even though surgery has been carried out due to bleeding in the brain after fighting with his seniors.
