East Jakarta KPU: The Colloss Movement Of Three Paslons In The Jakarta Pilkada Can Be Sentenced

The East Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) stated that the movement to nominate three pairs of candidates in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada could face criminal sanctions.

"If someone invites voters not to exercise their voting rights, that is part of a crime. Then criminal sanctions will be imposed," said East Jakarta KPU Commissioner Carlos Kartika Yudha, Friday, October 11.

The East Jakarta KPU appealed to the public not to be influenced by invitations that could damage democratic parties.

Carlos asked the public not to be influenced by the movement to vote for three pairs of candidates in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

"When there is a group or movement of people who incite or invite others not to exercise their voting rights, it is a form of criminal offense," he said.

Previously, the movement to nominate three pairs of candidates in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada emerged because a number of people considered that the Jakarta Pilkada candidates did not represent the aspirations of the residents.
