Maliq & D Essentials Respond To Netizen Creativity That Often Changes Their Song Lyrics
JAKARTA - Maliq & D'Essentials (MAD) songs, such as Oh' and We Make Romantic, viral and often played by netizens on social media some time ago, which made more and more people sing the song.
The problem is, some of them change the lyrics of the song on purpose and sometimes beyond reason.
Widi Puradiredja (drum) admitted that he had asked why many people changed the lyrics of the MAD song, and sang it as a parody.
However, the question was tried to be answered by letting more people change the lyrics of the MAD song.
For Widi, this means letting netizens continue to be creative through MAD's own work.
"Initially we were like'my song, (why) the lyrics were changed?' But yes, for a long time, we wanted people to be creative," said Widi during a press conference in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Wednesday, October 9.

"We made it romantic so 'we made a sandwich', okay," continued Widi, greeted by laughter from other personnel.
Currently, said Widi, MAD personnel do not want to bother with the number of people who change their songs.
"It's up to us, people want to sing the song Maliq & D'essentials with which lyrics, or make 'Independent is FF' too, OK, whatever," he said.
Furthermore, MAD is actually happy with the increasing number of their songs played or sung on social media. According to them, this provides many benefits.
This is the first time for Maliq to go viral for 20 years. We want to maintain this impact," said Widi.
"The immediate impact, I feel personally, that there is more trust than Maliq, that our song is not segmented," said Angga Puradiredja (vocals).
"On the side of the road, we are also reprimanded by hawkers. That adds to our confidence," he concluded.
