Instagram And Threads Moderation Tools Work Badly

JAKARTA - Threads, a platform that is synchronized with Instagram, has been criticized by users for content moderation issues. In fact, the topic of 'Treads Moderation Failure' has become a trend over the past 24 hours.

This complaint arose because Threads limited and deleted accounts that shared articles with controversial topics. In fact, many users just want to share information with other users, but their accounts become problematic.

One user who complained about this problem was Social Media Consultant Matt Navarra. Through his personal account, Matt explained that his account activity was limited after making a thread about 'Good live Meta AI' by linking the BBC article.

"The fact-checking tool says my post contains false information. Now, my account and all of my posts will be taken down on the feed and will not be shown to non-followers. My appeal was rejected," Matt explained.

Instagram does a slightly different thing. Umar Shakir, Author at The Verge, explains that his account was deactivated by Meta due to age problems. According to Meta, the account is owned by a child under the age of 13. Despite filing an appeal, Meta still insists.

"Meta gave me 30 days to file an appeal before the account was permanently deactivated, by asking me to upload a copy of the country's identity," he explained. "After review, Meta insisted that I was a minor."

With so many complaints about the way Threads and Instagram moderate content, Instagram Head Adam Mosseri finally responded. The Instagram official responded to several complaints and said that his party was conducting an investigation.
