Health Office Denies Gold Thief In Cirebon Claiming To Be A Health Officer
The Cirebon District Health Office (Dinkes) confirmed that its officers were not involved in the gold theft in Pralayan Village, Gebang District.
This was based on an internal investigation in response to the perpetrators of the theft of gold on Tuesday, October 8, claiming to be officers at the Cirebon Health Office.
"We have conducted a search at the nearest puskesmas and the staffing department, and it is confirmed that the perpetrator is not from the Cirebon District Health Office. So this theft was not the work of our officers," said Secretary of the Cirebon District Health Office Edi Susanto in Cirebon Thursday, October 10, confiscated by Antara.
Edi said that his party had investigated the information related to the incident, after CCTV camera footage showing the theft went viral on social media.
He emphasized that his party always involves village officials in official inspection activities or health services, and asked the public to be careful of individuals claiming to be service officers.
Moreover, he said, if this was done without the presence of a village midwife or a local cadre.
"We continue to coordinate with related parties to ensure public safety and follow up on this case according to procedures," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Gebang Police, Cirebon Police, AKP Wawan Hermawan, said that his party was currently hunting down a gang of perpetrators of the theft, who claimed to be officers at the Cirebon Health Office.
He said, from the results of the investigation, the perpetrators consisted of three women and one man. They stole jewelry belonging to a resident named Murni, weighing a total of 37 grams or worth Rp. 25 million.
Wawan said that in carrying out the action, the perpetrators pretended to offer health therapy services to enter the victim's house.
Due to this incident, the police appealed to the public to be more vigilant so that theft with this mode does not happen again.
"After successfully entering, they took away the victim's jewelry. We urge the public to be more alert to similar modes," said Wawan.
