Arctic Open 2024: Fajar/Rian Dramatic Win
JAKARTA - The Indonesian flagship men's doubles pair, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, qualified for the second round of the 2024 Arctic Open tournament.
The All England 2024 champion stayed in this event after stopping China Taipei's representative, Fang Chih Lee/Fang Jen Lee, two straight games 21-13 and 22-20 on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, evening WIB.
The fourth seed controlled most of the first game games. The initial position was tight, but five consecutive points after 8-6 made the opponent no longer move.
The second game actually went the other way around. Fajar/Rian who were left behind throughout the match even had to see the opponent reach the game point first 20-18.
However, the world's former world number one pair can score four consecutive points to trace the opponent's journey.

Unfortunately, in another match the pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana had to lift the suitcase earlier than the Super 500 BWF level tournament.
The journey from the 2024 Korean Open champion stopped because of the defeat of rubber games 21-17, 18-21, and 12-21 against eighth seed from Malaysia, Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee.
Leo/Bagas started their journey in this event from the qualifying round on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
They went smoothly in that phase and entered the main round after an easy win over Estonian pair Kristjan Kaljurand/Raul Kasner.
The results at the Arctic Open are Leo/Bagas' shortest journey in five competitions that have been followed since their formation was overhauled.
In the previous four tournaments, they ran twice in the semifinals (in Hong Kong and Japan Open 2024), won once (Korea Open 2024), and came home once in the second half (China Open 2024).
