Yenny Wahid Hopes PBNU-PKB Re-responsive Relations For The Interest Of The Nation
JAKARTA - The daughter of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur, Yenny Wahid hopes that the relationship between the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board and the National Awakening Party (PKB) will reopen for the benefit of the nation and state.
He stated that the conflict between the two must be resolved immediately so that it cannot drag on.
"Both of them must be tight again, because after all, both of them are part of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) extended family, so if there are differences in political views, they will be resolved together," Yenny said in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 9, quoted by Antara.
Furthermore, said Yenny, despite having a less harmonious relationship with the General Chairperson of PKB Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin, Yenny admitted that he was ready to become a mediator to improve the relationship between the two.
However, according to him, the mediation process will be realized if both parties are ready to do so.
"For the sake of NU, I am ready to become a mediator between Cak Imin and Gus Yahya (Yahya Cholil Staquf/Chairman of PBNU)," he said.
The less harmonious relationship between PBNU and PKB has re-emerged since the NU Congress in Lampung in 2021 and the 2024 General Election, which was colored by relations and communication, was not good between the two.
In fact, PBNU assessed that since Cak Imin's leadership, PKB has reduced the role and authority of the kiai.

The peak authority of the Shura Council is to be changed through changes to the AD/ART at the PKB Congress in Bali in August 2024.
Some of the reduced authorities are that the Shura Council no longer signs decrees, up to making decisions on party strategic matters, so that it is considered that there is a fundamental elimination of existence within the AD/ART or technically administratively within the PKB.
The loss of the authority of the Shura Council is also said to have made the PKB leadership centralized to the General Chair.
In fact, the AD/ART results of the Bali Congress explicitly stated that the General Chairperson of the PKB has extraordinary authority, such as determining strategic party policies, dismissing DPW and DPC administrators without any regional deliberation (muswil) or branch deliberation (muscab).
Meanwhile, Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar, admitted that he was ready to have a dialogue with the daughter of the 4th president of the Republic of Indonesia KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), Yenny Wahid and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma'ruf Amin to discuss the conflict between the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) and PKB Executive Board.
However, he emphasized that PBNU and PKB are two different organizations.
