Today's Memory, October 9, 2012: MUI Issues A Haram Fatwa On Infotainment Views

JAKARTA - Today's memory, 12 years ago, October 9, 2012, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) issued a fatwa that was forbidden for infotainment broadcasts. The fatwa was issued because the information justru brought a lot of harm, rather than benefits.

Previously, infotainments and celebrities had a symbiotic mutualism. Relationships are mutually beneficial. Infotainment gets a high rating. Artists get abundant publications. Problems arise when infotainment begins to tell disgrace to gosib which is not necessarily true.

Nothing can prohibit a celebrity from having fans. Their existence in the entertainment world certainly paves the way to be idolized. Sometimes activities do not only work matters. Many of them also want to know about the personal life of their idol.

All kinds of behavior in the life of his idol are considered interesting, from marriage to divorce. This condition is what makes information come true. Basically, information is present to report the daily activities of Indonesian stars.

Journalists of information work like national mass media journalists in seeking information. However, their status in producing journalistic products is still being debated to this day. One thing is certain that their presence is sometimes missed, sometimes hated.

They have been waiting for their presence by people who have just been involved in the entertainment world. They need more publications. It's different from those who happen to have a hard time getting divorced, for example, that condition can be angry. Informationtainment in that case has gone no further.

They started narrated celebrity figures with gossip and exposed their disgrace. Take for example reviews about Krisdayanti and Raul Lemos' marriage. All the couple's movements are always reported.

This condition often provokes anger. Information is considered not to know time. They are also considered not to know which is something right or wrong. The only thing they think about is a high rating.

At its peak, Raul Lemos once hit an infotaiment journalist because he was considered to have prevented his pregnant wife. Raul believed the treatment was the peak of his frustration with the way information is working in finding news.

"This is not my world, so I apologize if you guys don't feel good. Maybe it took time. Yesterday's incident, their camera was annoying, I also have to watch my wife get pregnant. I will try everything for my wife in any case, I will kill her too," said Raul Lemos as revealed on the website, wolipop.com, July 27, 2011.

In fact, Raul Lemos is not the only one who considers the presence of information to be detrimental. MUI is like that too. They consider the presence of infotainment to be a lot of harm, rather than benefits. Information is considered only to know how to find ratings without thinking about news that has been reported.

Sometimes Kada there are disgraces that are spread to gossip. MUI also takes a stand. MUI issued a fatwa that is forbidden to broadcast information on October 9, 2012. MUI also asked Muslims to stay away from posting information. MUI regrets the performance of information which actually takes advantage of providing disgrace to others.

"According to general provisions, fatwas regarding information, sharing disgrace, ugliness, gossip, and other matters related personally to other people and / or legal audiences are haram. Likewise, taking advantage of the news that contains disgrace and gossip, the law is illegal by MUI..

"This is to suppress the circulation of broadcasts that are considered contrary to religious norms. He asked all residents of Cianjur Regency to prefer useful events. Choose more useful television shows," said Chairman of the MUI Cianjur Regency Abdul Halim at the MUI National Conference quoted on the tempo.co page, October 9, 2012.
