Allegations Of Regional Cash Corruption, Ex-Walkot And Bengkulu Regional Secretary Examined By The Prosecutor's Office

BENGKULU - The Prosecutor's Office conducted an examination of the former Bengkulu Mayor (Walkot) Ahmad Kanedi regarding the alleged corruption case in Bengkulu.

The Special Criminal Investigation Section of the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati), Danang Prasetyo, said the investigation was carried out regarding the Mega Mall building which has never been deposited into the regional treasury.

"There were several people who were questioned regarding Mega Mall, from 2004 until now none of the rupiah has entered the regional treasury," he said in Bengkulu City, Wednesday, October 9, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said, until now as many as 15 officials and former officials within the Bengkulu City Government (Pemkot) were being investigated in connection with the case and it is suspected that it will continue to grow.

Because, said Danang, all parties related to development to date will be examined for questioning and there are no restrictions.

"All parties related to everything are questioned and nothing is restricted so that everything is clear. Until now there are 15 people in the Bengkulu city government who are being investigated and will continue to grow," he said.

In addition to the former Mayor of Bengkulu for the 2007-2012 period Ahmad Kanedi, the Attorney General's Office also examined former Assistant I of the Regional Secretariat (Sekda) of Bengkulu City, Safran Junaidi.

"My 91st year was the Head of the Legal Division of the Bengkulu City Government, then appointed as Assistant I at the end, then I was transferred to the Head of the Transportation Service and for the suspicion that Mega Mall did not deposit revenue or profit sharing on the regional treasury, I do not know anything," he explained.
