Police: Indonesian Hunting and Shooting Association Never Issued A Membership For The Viral Fortuner Driver Who Held A Handgun

JAKARTA - Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) investigators said that the Indonesian Hunting and Shooting Association (Perbakin) never issued a membership card for a driver with the initials MFA which went viral because he pointed a gun at a motorbike rider in Duren Sawit.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Yusri Yunus said the police found a Perbakin card in the name of the MFA when the perpetrator was arrested. However, when it was confirmed, Perbakin emphasized that they had never issued a membership card for MFA.

"The DKI Jakarta Perbakin has never issued it on the name of the person concerned," said Yusri as quoted from Antara, Sunday, April 4.

Based on these findings, the police also named MFA as a suspect for the illegal use of air soft gun as stipulated in the Indonesian Emergency Law No.12 of 1951.

"He is exposed to the article of Law No. 12 of 1951", said Yusri.

He also added that currently, MFA has been officially detained by the police.

"The person concerned will be detained starting today", he added.

Previously, a car driver with the initials MFA went viral on social media for carrying out a cowboy act by pointing a gun at a woman riding a motorcycle on Jalan Baladewa Duren Sawit, East Jakarta on Friday morning at around 01.00 a.m. local time.

At that time, MFA was driving a car with the license plate number B-1673 SJV across an intersection with a red light. Then, MFA's vehicle hit the motorbike, but the perpetrator took out a firearm and cursed at the woman who rode the motorbike.

Residents who were at the scene helped the motorbike driver and stopped the car, but the perpetrator ran away.

Polda Metro Jaya officers then arrested MFA in the parking lot of the South Jakarta shopping center after being visited at the house in Patal Senayan, but he was not at his residence.
