KPAI Suspects Orphanage In Tangerang Indicated TIP

TANGERANG - Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Ai Maryati revealed that what happened at the Darussalam An-Nur Orphanage, Kunciran Indah, Pinang, Tangerang City, did not rule out the possibility of a criminal act of trafficking in persons (TPPO).

He explained that this indication shows how this orphanage or foundation takes its children by selecting them.

"KPAI also sees that the development of sexual violence does not rule out the possibility of trafficking in persons. Because there are other things that should be suspected that recruitment is a manipulative retrieval of data," said Ai Maryati at the Tangerang City Social Service Office, Tuesday, October 8.

Moreover, there is manipulation of birth certificates under the guise of orphanages or foundations. So they get some money from the action they did.

"And even the birth certificate of the child so that it becomes a cover for this foundation to move for money, manipulate and enrich and multiply exploit children," he said.

Sudirman's orphanage in the Pinang area, Tangerang City was established in 2008. However, the place does not have a permit.

Many artists became donors at the orphanage. One of them was the late Olga Syahputra who also provided routine donors at the orphanage.
