Not Only The Secretary General's Room, The Attorney General's Office Also Searched Several KLHK Directorates On Palm Oil Corruption

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) searched the Secretariat General's office (Sekjen) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) regarding the alleged corruption case of oil palm plantation governance for the 2005-2024 period. As it turned out, five other rooms were also searched.

"(The room that was searched) was the Secretariat of the Supervision and Control Implementation Unit (Satlakwasdal), the Directorate in charge of PNBP payments in the form of PSDH and DR, the Directorate in charge of the Release of Forest Areas, the Directorate in charge of Law Enforcement, and the Legal Bureau," said Head of the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar in his statement, Monday, October 7.

From the search, investigators confiscated several documents. However, no further details were conveyed regarding the evidence in question.

"4 boxes of documents, other evidence in electronic form, especially related to the process of releasing forest areas," he said.

The reason for not being conveyed in detail regarding the confiscated evidence, said Harli, was because investigators were still analyzing it. In addition, a series of witness examinations are also being carried out to strengthen allegations of corruption that occurred.

"This sinking was carried out in the context of investigating cases of alleged corruption in the management of plantations and the oil palm industry for the period 2005 to 2024," said Harli.

Meanwhile, searches at the KHLK office were carried out on October 3, 2024. During this activity, investigators from the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) confiscated several pieces of evidence.
