Hyundai Partners With Waymo To Develop Ioniq 5 Autonomous Fleet
Hyundai announced a partnership with Waymo in the development of autonomous driving technology. It is said that this cooperation agreement has been going on for many years.
In the first phase of the partnership, the two companies will integrate Waymo's sixth-generation autonomous technology into Hyundai Ioniq 5. Over time, this system will be added to the Waymo One fleet.
Furthermore, this manufacturer from South Korea intends to produce a fleet of Ioniq 5 autonomous vehicles equipped with this technology in large quantities for several years to support Waymo One's scale growth.
Hyundai Motor Company President and Global COO Jose Munoz said this partnership was growing because both of them had the same vision of improving road users' safety, efficiency and comfort.
