JAKARTA - A man with the initials EPW became a victim of persecution on Jalan Galur Sari III, RT 05/01, Utan Kayu Selatan Village, Matraman, East Jakarta. The victim is known to be the head of the local RW.

Matraman Police Chief Kompol Suprasetyo said the incident occurred on Saturday, October 5.

His party received a report of a case of abuse committed by the perpetrator named Sarno against EPW.

Then the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Matraman Police, AKP Moch Zen, conducted a crime scene investigation.

"From the results of the crime scene, it is known that there was a victim who was hit with a wooden block by the perpetrator so that the victim's right leg was broken," said Suprasetyo when confirmed, Monday, October 7.

After being hit by a block, the perpetrator also threw a bicycle at the victim's body which resulted in a bruised right arm.

The victim was taken to the RSCM by residents for treatment and the Criminal Investigation Unit team checked with the RSCM for Visum et revertum to be carried out on the victim.

"The perpetrators shortly after the incident were arrested by residents and the Matraman Police Criminal Investigation Unit team," he said.

After an interrogation of the perpetrator, he admitted his actions. The perpetrator's actions were also caught on CCTV at the time of the incident.

"The perpetrator felt annoyed and had personal problems with the victim," he said.

Based on the testimony of witnesses, the victim and the perpetrator passed each other on the street. The witness saw and heard the perpetrator saying "Ape you saw" to the victim.

"Suddenly the perpetrator took a block at his house not far from the crime scene and returned to the victim. The victim, who was with his son at that time, was immediately beaten by the perpetrator using a beam many times which hit the body and on the leg," he said.

Currently, the perpetrators and a number of evidences include wooden blocks, CCTV footage, bicycles and others have been secured at the Matraman Police. The police also collected 2 eyewitnesses to the incident.
