Demanding The Welfare Of Judges' Salaries, South Jakarta District Court Postpones Trial For One Week

JAKARTA The aftermath of a leave movement with judges throughout Indonesia regarding the request for salary and allowance welfare, the South Jakarta District Court (Jaksel) postponed the trial for one week.

"For the South Jakarta District Court, trials will be postponed in the coming week," said South Jakarta District Court Public Relations Officer, Djuyamto when confirmed, Monday, October 7.

Djuyamto said that the pretrial hearing or trial whose detention period will run out today.

Based on the information, the South Jakarta District Court only appears to have one courtroom opened. However, other rooms are still closed, such as the Wirjono Prodjodikoro and Purwoto S Gandasubrata rooms.

"Except for pretrial hearings or hearings whose detention period will expire, they will still be tried," said Djuyamto.

For information, the Indonesian Judge Solidarity Movement said that thousands of judges in courts throughout Indonesia would take five days of collective leave as a form of protest because the government was considered not to prioritize the welfare of judges.

Spokesperson for the Solidarity Movement of Indonesian Judges, Fauzan explained that the salaries and allowances for the position of judges currently refer to Government Regulation (PP) Number 94 of 2012.

In this regulation, the details of the judge's basic salary range from Rp. 2 million to Rp. 4 million. To reach a salary of Rp. 4 million, judge Group III must serve at least 30 years, while judges Group IV must serve 24 years. In addition, the position allowance has not changed since 12 years ago.
