Megawati-Prabowo's Meeting Is Only Reconciliation, PDIP Is Predicted To Stay On Opository

Political observer Ray Rangkuti assesses that the PDI-P remains in a position outside the government or has a position even though Megawati Soekarnoputri meets President-elect Prabowo Subianto.

"I'm not sure Mrs. Mega will take a stand to join Pak Prabowo," he said, Sunday, October 6, 2024.

According to him, the meeting between Megawati and Prabowo was only a matter of reconciliation, and in reconciliation did not have to agree to work together in government. "Reconciliation could be a way, but we agree that our goals are the future, you are inside me outside. That's also part of reconciliation," he added.

Ray said Megawati's track record as PDIP General Chair showed figures who have the ability to maintain or are strong in maintaining her political choices. In addition, if the meeting only discussed haphazarding for power, Megawati should have taken this step when the discourse on the President's term of office emerged into three terms.

But in fact, only Megawati as a political elite continues to carry out or be on the existing constitutional path. This decision made Megawati and PDIP different paths from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"Masa Ibu Mega who is so great at maintaining and maintaining the principle of constitutionality, how come she only gets 3-4 ministerial seats and then falters. For me, this doesn't make sense," concluded Ray Rangkuti.
