JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI said that the commemoration of TNI's Birthday (HUT) in the National Monument (Monas) area had a significant impact on increasing the number of Jabodebek LRT users by 68 percent.
"The number of users on October 5, 2024 reached 59,459 users, an increase of 24,180 users or 68 percent compared to the average weekend in September which reached 35,279 users," said Jabodebek LRT Public Relations Manager Mahendro Trang Bawono, Sunday, October 6.
Mahendro said the Jabodebek LRT was the choice of the community because it offered safe, comfortable, and integrated travel with other modes of transportation.
In addition, said Mahendro, KAI applies the weekend tariff at an initial price of IDR 5,000 for the first kilometer (km) and an additional IDR 700 per km later, with a maximum limit of IDR 10,000 per trip.
"The implementation of a special weekend tariff with a maximum limit of IDR 10,000 per trip is also an attraction for users," he said.
Mahendro also said that several stations with the highest user volume were on October 5, 2024, namely Dukuh Atas BNI Station, Harjamukti Station, and Cikoko Station.
"The BNI Dukuh Atas Station, which is located in downtown Jakarta and integrated with various other modes of transportation, records the highest passenger volume," he said.
Meanwhile, continued Mahendro, Harjamukti Station at the end of the Jabodebek LRT route and Cikoko Station which are connected to Commuter Line and Transjakarta also show a significant increase in users, especially during peak hours between 14.00 and 17.00.
