BRIN: Biostimulan Dari Rumput Laut Jadi Prebiotic Perikanan Budidaya
JAKARTA - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) revealed that seaweed-based biostimulants are able to be a prebiotic for aquaculture commodities.
Biostimulan tersebut diciptakan karena adanya persoalan kualitas air yang digunakan untuk budadaya komoditas berikat, ditambah dengan adanya pasokan seaweed yang dapat dimanfaatkan.
"He (biostimulan) is a prebiotic, prebiotic food that we love the fish is expected to all be digested. If everything is digested, it means a little fess, a little ammonia, the fish is good (growth)," said the Main Expert researcher at the Marine and Land Bioindustry Research Center Jamal Basmal as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, October 6.
This innovation is the answer to the problems faced by the Chairman of the Mina Cooperative to Makmur Usup Supriyatna who complained that his cydat cultivation bioflok water was dirty, so that it affected the fish growth results.
The results of the meeting between Usup and Jamal then came up with the idea of utilizing the glacilaria type seaweed commodity which is also downstream of green gold as a biostimulant or fishery supplement.
"Only three days immediately the water quality is good. So usually the water is cloudy because there are many remaining indecomposable feed," he said.

In addition to cydat fish, his party also tries seaweed-based biostimulants for shrimp to milkfish commodities.
He claimed that the growth of commodities was faster than traditional cultivation and even provided a survival rate of up to 70 percent.
