Only 20 Percent Of Mosques Remain In The Gaza Strip Due To Israeli Attacks
JAKARTA - Nearly a year has passed since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Since then, Israel's brutal military aggression against the Gaza Strip has destroyed 79 percent of all mosques in the Palestinian enclave, Gaza's Ministry of Religion said Saturday.
In a statement, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 5, the ministry said the Israeli attack targeting the innocent people and various public facilities and infrastructure had destroyed 814 of the 1,245 mosques in Gaza, and caused severe damage to 148 other mosques.
Apart from mosques, three churches and 19 of the 60 funerals were also not missed and destroyed by Israel on purpose. Zionist soldiers were also reported to have harassed and dismantled tombs and stolen and mutilated bodies.
In addition to places of worship, the Ministry of Religion of Gaza also noted that 11 educational facilities and local governments under its authority were damaged. Israel also killed 288 of their employees and arrested 19 others.
Therefore, the Gaza Ministry of Religion condemned Israel's systematic attacks on religious sites in the Hamas-led Palestinian enclave, and urged the international community, including world organizations and Islamic organizations, to immediately intervene to stop the crime.
Israel's aggression to the Gaza Strip, which on October 7, 2024, even that year has killed more than 41,800 Gazans, mostly women and children, and injured 96,800 others, local health authorities said.
The attack has also caused nearly the entire population of Gaza to become refugees, and they are facing a shortage of food, clean water, and acute medicines due to an Israeli blockade.
Despite facing the trial of the International Court (ICJ) for genocide crimes and being instructed directly through UN DK resolution to immediately carry out a ceasefire, Israel continues its aggression in the Gaza Strip.
