Elementary School Boy Falls While Having Fun Sleeping In Sunter River Embankment, Officers Want To Help But Can't Swim

JAKARTA - Elementary school students were found dead in the Sunter River, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta on Friday, October 4. The student fell into the Sunter River while sleeping on the river embankment.

Head of Public Relations of the Kemayoran Police, Bripka Ricky Sihite, said the boy who was still in elementary school was found by PPSU officers who were cleaning the road in front of the Kemayoran Market.

Initially, the witness saw the victim alone lying on the river embankment on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, Serdang Village.

Before long, the janitor heard screams for help from the victim.

"Indeed, the boy slept on the embankment, someone saw sleeping on the embankment and the janitor heard the screams when he was cleaning for help," said Bripka Ricky when confirmed, Friday, October 4.

Then the janitor swerved into the river, and saw the victim drowned.

The janitor did not dare to help the victim because he could not swim.

"Well, he stopped whoever passed. Finally, someone wanted to stop donating," he said

The victim's body was successfully evacuated by local residents and rushed to the nearest Puskesmas.

The police, who received reports of the child drowning, immediately went to the Puskesmas.

There the police have found the poor boy dead.

"We came there, the condition has been skyrocketed by his feet, his hands are already tidy, just need to wash them," he said.

Bripka Ricky said the family had accepted the victim's departure as a disaster.

The family also refused to do an autopsy on the victim's body.
