Honda Sales In The US Reach 1 Million Units During Nine Months 2024, Electrification Products Are Targeted
Honda reported its sales results during September 2024 in the United States (US) market of 105,527 units, down 8.6 percent.
This year's positive record was made by the Japanese manufacturer in the third quarter (July-September) totaling 366,214 units, an increase of 8 percent. In the January-September period, sales reached 1,056,495 units, an increase of up to 8.8 percent. Overall, these sales include vehicles with Honda and Acura brands.
"Our sales momentum continues into the third quarter with strong demand for the Honda and Acura SUVs, as well as increased sales of electric models," said Vice President Auto Sales American Honda Motor Co Lance Woelfer, quoted from the company's official website, Friday, October 4.
From last month's sales results, Honda cars contributed sales of 95,601 units, down 7 percent. However, the increase was generated in the period January to September to 959,371 units, an increase of 11.5 percent.
Meanwhile, brand Acura managed to sell 9,926 units, down 21.7 percent during last September. During the nine months of this year, this premium brand contributed up to 97,124 units, down 12.1 percent.
Overall, electrification products from these two brands earned sales of up to 30,080 units (up 9.7 percent) in September 2024 and 229,657 units (up 5 percent) for nine months this year.

The best-selling model of the Honda brand over the past month was CR-V with a total of 29,217 units (down 15.5 percent), followed by 15,761 units (down 15.7 percent), and Accord with a total of 13,425 units (down 20.2 percent).
Complementing the top five, there is a HR-V model that contributes sales of 10,903 units (down 14.8 percent) and a pilot of 10,630 units (up 62 percent).
From the electrification segment, the Hybrid CR-V leads with a total of 15,760 units (minus 14 percent), then the Hybrid Accord with 6,762 units (down 25.7 percent), and the Prologue gets 3,785 units during September. Civic Hybrid also obtained impressive results with a total of 2,794 units during that period.
Moving to Acura, its best-selling car during September was RDX with 3,609 units (down 15.5 percent), followed by MDX with a total of 3,274 units (down 25.4 percent), and Integra with 1,516 units (down 45.5 percent).
Meanwhile, the only electric vehicle (EV) model from this brand, ZDX, sold 979 units last month.
