Indicator Survey: AGO Of The Most Trusted Law Enforcement Institution, KPK Is In A Distended Position

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office is the most trusted law enforcement agency by the public based on the latest findings of a survey from Indonesian Political Indicators.

Main Researcher for Indonesian Political Indicators Rizka Halida said the level of public trust in the Attorney General's Office was 69 percent. This figure places the prosecutor's office again as the most trusted law enforcement agency by the public.

"In the order of trust in state institutions, the Attorney General's Office is in third position, behind the TNI and the president," Rizka said in the Release of National Survey Findings: Public Evaluation of 10 Years of President Joko Widodo's Administration reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 4.

When compared to other law enforcement agencies, the Attorney General's Office is the most trusted by the public. In the findings of the Indicators, the level of trust in the Bhayangkara Corps (Polri) was 67 percent.

This was followed by a 66 percent court, a 64 percent Constitutional Court, and a Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) with 61 percent.

"This is a note. Usually the KPK is always high, but this time it is the lowest (between law enforcement agencies)," he explained.

The Indonesian Political Indicators Survey began on September 22 to 29, 2024. The number of respondents was 1,200 Indonesians who were obtained through a multistage random sampling technique.

Additional samples were taken from 11 of the largest provinces, namely North Sumatra, Riau, South Sumatra, Lampung, Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java and South Sulawesi. Each region has 300 respondents, while West Sumatra has 200 respondents.

The margin of error was reduced by 2.3 percent at the level of confidence of 95 percent.
