Blue Bird Taxi Driver Hits Boy At Sunday Market To Death
JAKARTA - The police arrested a Blue Bird taxi driver who allegedly hit a boy to death in the Ragunan area, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta (Jaksel), Thursday, October 3, at 15.00 WIB.
Pasar Minggu Police Chief, Kompol Anggiat Sinambela said the case had been handled by the South Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit.
"The taxi was secured with the one who crashed. It happened this afternoon. (The victim) Died, died at the location," Anggiat said when confirmed, Thursday, October 3.
Anggiat said the accident occurred when the taxi driver was driving fast. However, he failed to control his vehicle until he finally hit the boy.
"Yes, if I think it will be fast, if you are slow, you can brake it, right. You need to deepen it, right," he said.
A video circulated through an Instagram account, seen residents gathering around a taxi with license plate number B 2170 BUB and a body covered with billboards.

At that time the boy was playing with his friends while chasing a bus horn that crossed the street.
It is suspected that the child escaped parental supervision during the incident and did not pay attention to the busy street situation.
"Not with parents, if there is a telolet, it's with his friends," he said.
The police confirmed that the driver was not drunk because he was a taxi driver.
