Vegetable Protein No Less Important For Stunting Prevention

JAKARTA - Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem due to a lack of nutritional intake in the long term, resulting in disruption of growth in children. Children who experience stunting usually lurk children in remote areas of Indonesia.

How can Angelina, Co-Founder & CEO of Burgreens and Green Rebel, reveal an easy way to prevent stunting for children. He feels that many Indonesians do not care about plant-based proteins. Whereas in stunting prevention, vegetable protein also has an important role.

Vegetable protein includes tofu, tempeh, lentils, nuts, and other plant-based foods. This is because the Indonesian people are always fixated on a perfect 4 healthy 5 meal.

According to him, the Indonesian people should follow the guidelines for My Pirings compiled by the Ministry of Health. In one plate every time you eat, half a plate is filled with vegetables and fruit, while the other half is filled with staple food and side dishes.

In addition, my plate content also contains an invitation to consume 8 glasses of water every day, perform 30 minutes of physical activity every day, and wash your hands with water and soap before and after eating.

How can Angelina say that children who are stunted are malnourished for a long time. This can be caused by a lack of nutritional intake in mothers during pregnancy or children while in a period of growth.

"Stunting is generally due to underage children who lack calories, iron protein is a child's problem for up to two years," said telas, when met in a book review and press conference for the documentary Dangerous Human in Jakarta, recently.

"If it's been two years and over and adult nutrition people, generally villages and cities are overcalories, specifically for big cities, we have excess protein, but we want to be in villages, big cities, or rich, mediocre, 97% of people lack fiber," he continued.

She also highlighted 37.9 percent of stunting cases in toddlers in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This shows that 37 to 38 of the 100 toddlers in NTT Province are stunted. This figure makes NTT the second province with the highest prevalence of stunting toddlers in Indonesia after the Papua Mountains Province.

They asked parents who live in remote areas of Indonesia, including NTT, to make their own tempeh if they don't have money to buy plant protein. For him, it is very important to educate on the manufacture of tempeh for mothers in NTT.

"Stunting children are given tempeh, weighing for a month and height has increased rapidly. So actually we teach these NTT mothers to come from local nuts in NTT. If they teach them to jump, they increase their nutrition rapidly, it prevents stunting," he said.
