East Java Police Arrest 4 Fake Police Who Extorted Drug Users
Sub-Directorate of Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda East Java arrested four men from Sidoarjo and Gresik who claimed to be members of the police to extort drug users.
Wadireskrimum Polda Jatim AKBP Suryono said the four people arrested were HRP (36) from Magersari, KA (46) from Porong, MAA (23) from Candi, Sidoarjo Regency. And MRF (21) from Gresik Regency.
The case was revealed after the victim named Surahman reported to the East Java Regional Police on September 3, 2024. Surahman admitted to being a victim of extortion by four men, one of whom turned out to be a friend of the victim, namely MRF.
"So the reporter (Sahrahman) knows MRF's brother. Then on September 1, he was invited (MRF) to consume crystal methamphetamine (region) in Semampir, Surabaya. After consuming methamphetamine, MRF ordered to pocket methamphetamine in the victim's wallet," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 3.
On their way home from him, Surahman was intercepted by three people who claimed to be members of the East Java Regional Police. They then took him to a supermarket or supermarket and explained that they would arrest Surahman for storing crystal methamphetamine.
Surahman was then put into the car and invited around.
In the vehicle, the gang launched their action by asking Surahman for some money while occasionally molesting, handcuffing, and pointing a match resembling a gun.
"The reporter (Sahrahman) called his uncle, initially asked for Rp50 million, but it was agreed Rp15 million," he continued.

The next day, the victim's uncle asked to meet the perpetrators to hand over the requested money. The meeting took place around Puspa Agro Market, Sukodono District, Sidoarjo Regency.
"Then there we secured four suspects and a number of evidences in the form of cellphones, money and matches in the form of pistols that were made scary, STNK, Rp100,000 in cash, handcuffs, and motorbikes," he explained.
The mastermind of the action is MRF. For his actions, the four suspects were charged with Article 368 of the Criminal Code or Article 333 of the Criminal Code with a threat of nine years in prison.
