Global Hyundai Sales Drop 3.7 Percent In September, Electrification Segment Still Promises
Hyundai Motor Company has just reported total global sales for September 2024, with an achievement of 343,824 units. This figure has decreased by 3.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
Based on information from the company's official website, Thursday, October 3, Hyundai recorded sales of 288,019 units on the market outside Korea, which decreased by 5 percent compared to the previous year.
While in the Korean domestic market, Hyundai managed to sell 55,805 units, up 3.5 percent compared to last year. In the SUV segment, Hyundai recorded sales of 20,085 units, making it one of the favorite segments in the Korean market. Hyundai premium brand Genesis also made a solid contribution with global sales of 10,638 units.

For electric vehicles (EVs), Hyundai showed a strong performance by selling more than 17,000 EV units globally last month. This achievement further strengthens Hyundai's position in the environmentally friendly vehicle market.
During the first nine months of 2024, Hyundai managed to collect total sales of 3,075,861 units worldwide, despite a decline of 1.6 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Of these, sales outside Korea reached 2,560,256 units, which only slightly fell 0.1 percent. Meanwhile, sales in the Korean market contributed 515,605 units, down 8.5 percent.
To overcome this decline and increase momentum, Hyundai plans to strengthen production and sales, as well as respond to market changes more flexibly. The company is also focused on expanding the lineup of hybrid and EV products, including strengthening superior models such as Inster and the Ioniq series, to achieve greater profits in the future.
