Student Watering Hard Water To Police Members Has Been Arrested

JAKARTA - The police have named five students as suspects for carrying sharp weapons for brawls and pouring hard water on police officers in the North Gunung Sahari area, Central Jakarta, on Monday night, September 30.

The suspect YP (16) who poured hard water was charged with four layers of articles related to planned severe persecution, namely Article 355 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning the planned severe persecution, with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.

Then Article 354 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning serious persecution that causes serious injuries, with a maximum threat of 8 years in prison. Then Article 353 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning severe persecution carried out with prior planning, with a maximum threat of 7 years in prison.

Finally, Article 351 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning ordinary persecution, with a maximum threat of 5 years in prison.

Meanwhile, four other suspects, namely MR (17), DW (15), ANY (16) and RF (14), were subject to Article 2 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with a penalty of 12 years in prison. The police are also still examining 26 other students who were also arrested on Monday night.

Susatyo said that all students who had been arrested were minors, ranging from 14 years old and there were 16 years old.

"We managed to prevent the brawl and secured 31 students carrying machetes and along with 20 motorbikes. We are still checking the rest," said Susatyo.

Susatyo hopes that this incident will be a lesson for the public to be more vigilant so that children are not involved in brawls.

"Don't let the children's curfews outside the hangout be unclear, because sharp weapons such as golf clubs, corbeks and arrows that are secured from the perpetrators show their readiness to commit violence," said Susatyo.

This incident began when the Police received information from the public about a suspicious group of students. Based on the report, the police immediately responded by deploying a team to the scene with members of the Sawah Besar Police.

When they arrived at the scene, the police arrested the students who were riding a motorcycle and carrying various sharp weapons, firecrackers and other dangerous materials.

The evidence confiscated from the arrests included 17 sharp weapons, one firecracker, one golf club, one iron ruler and two bottles filled with hard water.

In addition, the police also confiscated 25 cell phones belonging to them and 20 motorbikes used as means of transportation.
